Where we are

Sunrise Villas is on the north shore of Koh Samed, facing the mainland some seven kilometres away.

We are very easy to find. When you approach the island by ferry boat, you will see Sunrise Villas stretching along the shore to the right of the main pier at Nadan. A two-minute walk from the pier, following the coast road, will take you to our entrance and a path leading down to reception. Within a few minutes of reaching Koh Samed you could be relaxing on your own veranda or having a quiet drink at the bar.

The best way to Koh Samed

The only way to get to Koh Samed is by boat from Ban Phe. You have the choice of a public ferry which takes around 25-30 minutes to cross, depending on the size of the boat, or a 10-minute crossing by speedboat. The ferry costs 50 baht each way, whereas a shared speedboat will cost each person 250 baht. If you like, you can hire a speedboat just for your party. It's a fun way to reach the island - but it's not cheap!

The important thing when planning your journey, is to make sure you head for Nadan pier on Koh Samed. Not all the ferry services from Ban Phe will take you to Nadan pier so we recommend you use Nuanthip pier or Tarua Phe.

Please allow yourself plenty of time. Remember we are on an island and ferry services do not run through the night. We prefer our guests to check-in by six o'clock. Like the ferry boats, our reception does not operate 24 hours a day and if you are going to arrive later than six please let us know by calling on 0852785711.

Nuanthip Pier

Nuanthip pier is by the bus station in Ban Phe. This is the best pier to use if you are arriving by public bus or mini-bus. They have a regular passenger ferry service every hour. The first ferry leaves around 8am and the last around 5pm. Do not miss the last one or you may have to find a room in Ban Phe or pay extra for a speedboat crossing.

Tarua Phe

This pier is opposite 7/11 on the main road. There is a regular ferry service for passengers and freight that again runs around once an hour, though during the low season boats may wait longer to get more passengers. There is also a speedboat service from here. Prices are similar to those at Nuanthip pier. You are more likely to find services running later into the evening from here, especially on market days (Mondays and Thursdays). But please do not rely on this.
